HVOF – High Velocity Oxigen Fuel
It is the most advanced coating used for components subjected to wear.
It allows virtually any steel component to be transformed into a tungsten carbide part, thereby increasing its service life.
It consists of applying a tungsten carbide, cobalt, and chromium compound in a 0.2 mm thick layer onto a steel surface.
This applied layer reaches a hardness of 1500 Vickers, equivalent to a K30 grade tungsten carbide part.
The coating composition also provides corrosion resistance due to the presence of chromium.
The technology acquired by Tantal Technology for this coating is the best available today. The equipment features a gun powered by aviation fuel, allowing extremely high application speeds of the coating material.
The type of fuel used is key to the final quality of the coating. The technology at Tantal Technology allows applications at speeds equivalent to eight times the speed of sound.
